How do you respond to claims of bias about the World's Smallest Political Quiz?

[link removed]

"I've taken that Quiz. It tells everyone they're a libertarian."

I heard statements like this, more than once, while I was working the booth at this year's Freedom Fest.

At this event, we were debuting our brand new World's Smallest Political Quiz cards. But if you've ever worked one of our Operation Politically Homeless booths, you've likely heard the same thing.

However, that charge does NOT make sense. Here's why...

** The Great Salesman
------------------------------------------------------------
The idea of plotting people not only on a left-right line, but also on an authoritiarian-libertarian axis, was first presented by David Nolan. His diamond-shaped political map was even called a Nolan Chart.

People made up their own Nolan quizzes. Questions varied widely. They even used this method in outreach booths throughout the 1970s and early ’80s.

The Advocates for Self-Government standardized the Quiz questions and put them on a business card, branding it as "The World's Smallest Political Quiz." Well, to be more specific, the founder of The Advocates did this. His name was Marshall Fritz, and his motive for creating The Quiz was clear.

Marshall was a former IBM salesman. He understood that, “A salesman whose kids get to eat is the one who closes the sale.” And closing is much easier to do with an interested prospect.

** Qualified Leads
------------------------------------------------------------
Marketing delivers prospects to sales. They're usually called "leads." Gathering leads is a case where quality matters. Finding out whether they’re interested or not interested - a process called "qualifying the lead" - is each equally important.

The sales pro wants highly qualified leads because he or she doesn't want to waste time with people who are disinterested or outright hostile.
A recent comment on our Facebook page from an "unqualified" lead.

Guess what? We don't want to spend our time like that either!

Marshall understood that sales success means knowing who you are talking to. In other words, sales pros need to understand what their prospect’s concerns really are, and where their prospects are coming from.

He also understood that, sometimes, a conversation is a waste of time for both sides.

And in this sense, The Quiz really works!

Most people who take The Quiz do NOT score libertarian - only about 1/3rd do.

Listen, we're not going to hide the fact that we're interested in getting people to understand, embrace, and advocate the values of self-government. But it would be ridiculous for us to try to manipulate and lie someone into a more voluntary form of governance.

You might even say that it'd be hypocritical if we did that.

Besides, such clever chicanery would likely backfire. A Quiz that misleads isn't going to be taken 23 million times, like The World's Smallest Political Quiz has been. It's not going to be employed by thousands of teachers and professors of varying political values in their classrooms year after year, like our Quiz is.

We want to get 23 million more people to take The Quiz. And we want to start by getting...

"1 Million Quiz Completions in '21"

To aid us in that journey, we have a nice new tool for you.

The Advocates' Political Quiz became "The World's Smallest" in part because it fit on a business card. Today...

An entire website can fit on a business card.

The technology that makes this possible is called a QR code. Aim your smartphone camera, and with a single tap you're transported to the website.

Now, we have a business card you can share with others, leave in waiting rooms, or use in the middle of a conversation. Snap the QR code on that card, and you'll go right to the online version of The World's Smallest Political Quiz, which is optimized for phone use.

They're brand new and debuting in our online store. And I’d like you to be amongst the first to have them.
