* Entrée des données (n’importe quelle durée pendant que le bureau est ouvert)
* Représentant.e au bureau du vote par anticipation (11-14 octobre)

La candidate néo-démocrate et conseillère d’arrondissement dans le Sud-Ouest, Sophie Thiébaut, a pris position sur Facebook en disant que si elle était députée de la circonscription, elle interviendrait pour défendre le dossier du déneigement. «Le soutien à la mobilité permet de réduire nos GES (Gaz à effet de serre) et cela fait partie des orientations majeures de notre parti», a-t-elle écrit.

MONTRÉAL – Le chef adjoint du NPD, Alexandre Boulerice (Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie), et les candidates néo-démocrates, Sophie Thiébaut (Ville-Marie–Le Sud-Ouest–Île-des-Sœurs), Nimâ Machouf (Laurier–Sainte-Marie), Catheryn Roy-Goyette (Hochelaga) et Ève Péclet (La Pointe-de-l’Île) s’engagent à réviser les orientations de travail des sociétés d’État fédérales qui gèrent des terrains bordant le fleuve Saint-Laurent afin d’améliorer l’accès au fleuve pour les Montréalais et les Montréalaises.

« La population et les administrations locales réclament un meilleur accès au fleuve depuis longtemps, mais le gouvernement fédéral fait la sourde oreille, a affirmé M. Boulerice. Le NPD fera preuve de leadership et aura le courage d’inciter les sociétés d’état à écouter la population et à collaborer avec les communautés riveraines. »

Les terrains qui bordent le Fleuve à Montréal sont gérés par des instances sous la responsabilité du gouvernement fédéral, telles que la Société du Vieux-Port de Montréal ou la Société immobilière du Canada (SIC). Ces instances ont actuellement la main mise sur les rives et sur la façon dont ces terrains sont gérés. Différents regroupements citoyens se sont plaints du manque d’interlocuteur au gouvernement fédéral pour assumer la responsabilité de ces sociétés d’état vis-à-vis de la population au fil des ans.

« Ces terrains publics ont une importance historique et patrimoniale et devraient être accessibles à tous et toutes, a déclaré la candidate du NPD dans Ville-Marie–Le Sud-Ouest–Île-des-Sœurs, Sophie Thiébaut. Il est déplorable que la logique de gestion de ces sociétés semble être surtout reliée à la recherche de profits par la voie du tourisme, au détriment de la qualité de vie des citoyens et citoyennes résidant aux abords de ces terrains publics. Le gouvernement a la responsabilité sociale de planifier l’utilisation de ces terrains avec la population. »

** THE NDP WANTS TO IMPROVE MONTREALERS' ([link removed]) ACCESS TO THE ST.LAWRENCE RIVER

MONTRÉAL – NDP deputy leader Alexandre Boulerice (Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie), and New Democratic Party candidates, Sophie Thiébaut (Ville-Marie–Le Sud-Ouest–Île-des-Sœurs), Nimâ Machouf (Laurier–Sainte-Marie), Catheryn Roy-Goyette (Hochelaga) and Ève Péclet (La Pointe-de-l’Île) committed to review the directives of federal crown corporations who manage lands bordering the St. Lawrence River in order to improve Montrealers’ access to the St. Lawrence River.

“For a long time, the population and local administrations have been asking for a better access to the river, but their request has fallen on deaf ears,” affirmed Boulerice, “The NDP will show leadership and will have the courage to encourage these crown corporations to listen to the population and collaborate with riverside communities.”

The lands bordering the river in Montréal are managed by organizations under federal government responsibility: the Old Port of Montréal Corporation and the Canada Lands Company. These organizations control the riverside lands and how they are managed. Many citizens’ groups have complained that for many years, there hasn’t been anyone at the federal government to engage with the concerns of the population and to assume the federal government’s social responsibilities.

“These public lands are of great historic and patrimonial importance and must be accessible to everyone,” declared Sophie Thiébaut, the NDP candidate in Ville-Marie–Le Sud-Ouest–Île-des-Sœurs, “It is deplorable that these crown corporations are managed with the prime goal of profitability through tourism to the detriment of the quality of life for citizens living next to these lands. The government has a social responsibility to plan their land use with the population.”
