I know a little something about winning as a Democrat in a red state.

When I ran for Secretary of State in Missouri, I knew it wouldn't be easy. But I also knew the people of Missouri, and if I told them the truth they wouldn’t just vote along party lines — they'd vote for the guy who was going to protect them and their families.

But things have changed, John, and not for the better.
