Just ten days ago, a Montana judge ruled in favor of the 16 youth plaintiffs in Held v. State of Montana, validating that they can pursue their claims that Montana’s fossil fuel-friendly policies violate these young people’s constitutional rights. This historic ruling places the youth on the path to trial where they will present evidence of the climate harms caused by their own government.

6th Anniversary of Juliana v. U.S.: You Sustain Our Efforts
Last Thursday also marked the sixth anniversary of the filing of our landmark federal constitutional climate case, Juliana v. United States. This means that FOR SIX YEARS the 21 Juliana youth plaintiffs have doggedly pursued climate justice in the courts. For some of them, this is almost half or one-third of their lives! And, despite the numerous hurdles and barriers put in their path by three consecutive presidential administrations and their Departments of Justice, Juliana v. U.S. endures and is poised for another win.
The attorneys at Our Children’s Trust are proud to represent and support these young people - and their fellow young plaintiffs in state and global cases like Held v.
