John, today I’m coming to you personally to ask you for a $3 donation to this campaign.

When people think about what Congress members look like, it’s not me.
I don’t have a college degree.
I grew up in public housing.
I’m not a millionaire.
You see the issue, John?
While I might not bring the most education or money to the House, I do bring one thing that many members of Congress don’t have:
Lived experience.
Growing up as a poor kid in the district I now represent informs everything I do in Congress.
It’s why I fight so hard for things like the Child Tax Credit, safe and affordable housing, and the Equality Act: I know firsthand why we need them.
So when I say this fight is personal for me, I mean it.
Being a millionaire would certainly make it easier to run for Congress -- if I was one, I could ask fellow rich, corporate friends for help to run this race.
But that’s not me, John, and it never will be. So I’m here to ask you one last time today. Can you give $3 -- or whatever you can spare -- to help me continue my fight?
