Friends, This morning, I was horrified to see Minneapolis Democrat Party Chair Devin Hogan’s comments about the riots and burning of the third precinct that happened last summer. Instead of recognizing rioting and arson as the destructive crimes they are, Devin Hogan praised the actions of the criminals who burned Minneapolis to the ground: “Like it or not, setting the Third Precinct on fire was a genuine revolutionary moment. An act of pure righteousness to open new worlds of understanding. The people declared themselves ungovernable and unilaterally took their power back. The largest international human rights movement in modern history had begun. The youth of Minneapolis carried all of this. The cops started it.” Over the past year, Minneapolis residents have been living with crime and terror. Three children have been shot this summer, and there were four murders in the city of Minneapolis within 48 hours just this past weekend. At its current rate, this year will be the deadliest year in the history of Minneapolis. Devin Hogan could not be more out of touch as he joins other Democrats across the country in his calls to defund the police. Last summer here in Minnesota’s suburbs, State Rep. John Thompson held a protest at the home of the president of the Minnesota Peace & Police Officers Association and profanely called to defund the police. And last week, Congresswoman Cori Bush told the nation from DC that she wanted to defund the police but spent $200,000 on private security for herself. Their hypocrisy is on full display. I believe that Minneapolis residents - and all Americans - deserve to live in communities made safe by our law enforcement officers. That is why I will continue to support our law enforcement and make sure families across the country have safe homes and communities. For our country, P.S. If you are also horrified by the Democrats’ embrace of these radical anti-police policies, please consider supporting my efforts to take back the House here. Thank you in advance for your help!
