Like most Georgians, I’m fed up
with the crime wave we’ve seen in Atlanta.

Criminals have been
emboldened in major cities across America – the far-left “Defund the
Police” movement has had DEADLY consequences.

We need to TAKE BACK
our capital city... and since local leaders have failed to do so, we’re
stepping up at the state level to RESTORE LAW AND ORDER!

Last week,
I allocated an additional $2 million from the Governor’s Emergency Fund
to give a big boost to the Crime Suppression Unit, launched by the
Georgia Department of Public Safety back in April to target criminals
in Atlanta and take back our streets.

I’m proud to Back the Blue,
and I know they need these resources to get the job done.

The Crime Suppression
Unit is proving to be an effective partnership. With the help of other
state and local law enforcement agencies, it has made hundreds of
arrests and apprehended dozens of fugitives.

This $2 million boost
will allow the unit to hire more officers and ramp up aggressively in
the weeks ahead. And I’ll continue working with state leaders and law
enforcement to tackle this crime wave.
