I had the honor of serving the people of Iowa's 2nd Congressional District for 14 years. In that time there was someone who stood out as one of the hardest workers I'd ever seen in my time in public service: Abby Finkenauer.

It gives me great pride to endorse Abby for the U.S. Senate. Now look, I know a thing or two about running and winning tough campaigns. It takes grit, but it also takes resources – particularly when you take on a seven-term incumbent like Sen. Grassley. That's why I need your help to raise Abby $25,000 before the day is done. Abby and I worked on a number of issues together when we both served in Congress – and Abby didn't approach her work like many politicians do. She didn't seek out the spotlight on cable television or try to score partisan political points in her floor speeches. It was always – always – about the people she was fighting for back home.

Time and again, ever since she served in the Iowa State House at the age of 26, Abby has proven she has the grit and determination to stand up for her constituents and improve the lives of Iowa's working families. That's because Iowa's working families are her family – where she comes from, what she's experienced. 

Sadly, Sen. Chuck Grassley has lost his way. He doesn't give a voice to the working families of our state anymore, choosing instead to stand with Mitch McConnell every step of the way and embolden the dangerous rhetoric of the twice-impeached former president. Iowans deserve so much better. 

We can win better for Iowa, but this race will be one of the biggest – and most expensive – in the country. Mitch McConnell and his multiple fundraising committees and super PACs could spend millions to prop up Sen. Grassley. But Abby's running this campaign the right way – the grassroots way. That's why I'm counting on you, friend, to help Abby compete and win by making a donation right now.
