Governor Murphy signed a landmark bill this week that will provide free in-home nursing visits to new mothers [[link removed]] throughout the state after delivering a new baby. Part of First Lady Tammy Murphy’s maternal health initiative, the bill will seek to address the disparities that currently exist in the state, where Black women are seven times as likely to die from pregnancy related complications than white women. The universal program will be available to all new moms and it will help continue Governor Murphy’s mission of creating a stronger and fairer New Jersey.
