Friend,
I believe that you -- like all Americans -- have a right to safe, affordable, and liveable housing. But that’s not a reality for too many people in New York and around the country. We are facing a housing crisis, and we desperately need bold solutions to fix it.
That’s why Senator Schumer and I are calling on President Biden to invest $80 billion in federal funding for public housing to eliminate the capital repair needs of NYCHA and all public housing authorities nationwide.
When I toured Red Hook Houses, residents told me about needing an umbrella in their apartments and living with a plumbing stoppage for over a month. It’s unacceptable -- and proper funding is the first step to addressing it.
That’s why I’m so proud to join with residents and organizers to ensure that every public housing authority gets the funding it needs. Are you with us? [[link removed]]

We can’t compromise on living standards. Every American deserves the right to affordable, livable housing, and while investing in public housing is not enough to solve the crisis, it is an essential step. But I can’t do it without you, friend . Will you join me in fighting for this critical issue? [[link removed]]
Public housing is infrastructure -- and a priority. It's time to fund it.
In solidarity,
Nydia
