Here in San Diego, our convention center was utilized as an
emergency intake facility for unaccompanied migrant minors.

When President Biden asked for compassion for the children
crossing the border alone, San Diegans heeded his call and
offered a space full of compassion and understanding, without the
cruelty of the Trump administration’s choices. Now, we’ve
successfully connected over 2,400 children with family members in
the U.S. and can celebrate the closure of this facility.

The inhumane practices of the Trump Administration got us here,
and while we’re grateful for the placement of these children, it
is time we end the legacy of Trump’s immigration policies.
