Every August, members of Congress return to their home districts for a
month-long break known as the August recess. 

During this time, representatives traditionally host town hall meetings
(this year virtually) to hear from constituents – which makes August a
crucial opportunity for us to make our case for Medicare for All directly
to our representatives. 

In fact, in August 2019, our movement showed up in such large numbers and
was so successful at putting members of Congress on the spot about
Medicare for All that we gained national media attention.^1

Now, we need to go even bigger this year to secure as many new cosponsors
on the Medicare for All Act (HR 1976) as possible.

We know firsthand that showing up, getting our representatives on the
record, and asking tough questions is one of the best strategies we have

the ground who are willing to step up.
