August recess has traditionally been a key place to make our presence known.

National Nurses United

Every August, members of Congress return to their home districts for a month-long break known as the August recess.

During this time, representatives traditionally host town hall meetings (this year virtually) to hear from constituents – which makes August a crucial opportunity for us to make our case for Medicare for All directly to our representatives.

In fact, in August 2019, our movement showed up in such large numbers and was so successful at putting members of Congress on the spot about Medicare for All that we gained national media attention.1

Now, we need to go even bigger this year to secure as many new cosponsors on the Medicare for All Act (HR 1976) as possible.

Will you add your name if you’re ready to take action with us this August Recess to help us put more pressure on members of Congress to support Medicare for All? After you sign up, we’ll let you know if there’s a virtual town hall in your area and how you can participate.

I'm in »This year, most town halls and meetings are virtual, which means we have a key opportunity to ask our representatives directly about their support for Medicare for All right from our homes.

We know firsthand that showing up, getting our representatives on the record, and asking tough questions is one of the best strategies we have to win their support. But this is only possible if we have constituents on the ground who are willing to step up.

Please fill out the form here if you’re ready to take action with us this August recess.

With excitement,
