From the record-breaking heat wave that has claimed hundreds of lives in the Pacific Northwest, to the recent floods across Virginia, to an underwater gas leak in the Gulf of Mexico that literally set the ocean ablaze, the events from the first few weeks of this month alone make an urgent case for tackling the climate crisis.

Right now, the Senate is working on an infrastructure package that is our best bet to secure the investments we need to upgrade everything from our power grids to electric vehicle production. It includes $47 billion to help communities improve their infrastructure in the face of the climate emergency and $21 billion for important environmental cleanup projects.
