[[link removed]]Dear John,

America’s facing a crisis, and we need your help.

In 2020, we lost over 43,000 Americans to gun violence. This year, things are
only getting worse: in just the first six months of 2021, there have already
been 301 mass shootings (1) . We’re looking at a summer colored by blood if we don’t take action now.

That’s why we have to pass the Break the Cycle of Violence Act.

[[link removed]] The legislation, sponsored by Senator Cory Booker and Representative Steven
Horsford, will create a National Community Violence Response Center and a
federal Office of Community Violence Intervention to curb gun violence across
the U.S. The bill will also invest a total of $6.5 billion in America’s most vulnerable communities and fund programs proven to reduce
violence while creating new opportunities for underserved youth.

TAKE ACTION
[[link removed]]This is the path forward we love to see! In order to end the gun violence epidemic, we must address the root causes of
gun violence and treat the gun violence epidemic as a symptom of a larger issue. One of the best ways for the country to do this is by investing in
community-based violence intervention and prevention initiatives that stop
violence from ever occurring in the first place.

Our generations deserve a life free from gun violence. We’re using our power and
pressuring lawmakers to make that happen. Contact your senator and tell them to pass the Break the Cycle of Violence Act.

Together, we can stop gun violence in its tracks.
