Things are going on

Dear Twin Ports DSA Members and Associates,

There is so much going on I had to send a mid-week update.

In chapter news, the many comments last night at the City Council Meeting in support of Community Crisis Response were great. While the city and county are quite supportive and the Mayor has proposed setting aside 1.8 million for the project, the plan is to keep pushing to make it the best it can be, with permanent funding. If you want to be involved with our Racial Justice Working Group, email Lydia at [email protected] .

Today at 4pm at Lake and Superior there is a Line 3 protest and education event sponsored by Loaves and Fishes. Bring signs if you have them.

Also today, at 6 pm, members who are interested in discussing the various resolutions and amendments being proposed for the national DSA convention can meet at Troy and Kyrsten's house, 3724 Allendale Avenue in Duluth.

Thursday, at 6 pm, both of our endorsed city council candidate teams are knocking doors together! Meet at the base of Chester Creek on 8th St. and Chester Park Dr/15th Ave E and spread the word about Azrin and Mike. If you don't have it, download the MiniVAN app on you phone and create an account. If you can't use it, let Ashley know at 218-485-1074 and she will set you up with a print-out. Make sure your phone is charged up. There is an additional door knock Sunday at 5pm, same location.

Our Chapter Check-in (our monthly casual get-together) is this Saturday at 6pm. We meet at David Clanaugh's House, 2905 W 6th St in Duluth . We start with a little float decorating, then end with some food and fun. Bring something to share and a beverage of choice if you can.
