Friend,
Governor Edwards vetoed SB 156 [[link removed]] because it is an attempt to discriminate against transgender children in Louisiana by preventing them from participating in school sports. Discrimination is not a Louisiana value .
Proponents of this bill and athletic officials have struggled to identify a single instance where a transgender student's participation in school sports has caused a problem in Louisiana. In addition, states that passed similar legislation lost out on major sporting events and business opportunities as a result. SB 156 is mean spirited and bad for business in Louisiana.
Contact legislators and urge them to stand against discrimination by upholding the veto of SB 156. [[link removed]]
