Friend,
Governor Edwards vetoed SB 156 because it discriminates against transgender children in Louisiana by preventing them from participating in school sports. Discrimination is not a Louisiana value.
School athletic officials have not been able to identify a single instance where a transgender student's participation in school sports has caused a problem in Louisiana. In addition, states that passed similar legislation lost out on major sporting events and business opportunities as a result. SB 156 is mean spirited and bad for business in Louisiana.
Contact legislators and urge them to stand against discrimination by upholding the veto of SB 156.
Contact your state legislators to urge them to uphold the vetoes of the anti-trans sports bill. |
