Happy fourth of July! I hope you and your family are having a safe and fun weekend.
For me, it's been another busy week in District 59. To keep you updated, I want to provide a brief overview of the important things taking place.

DeSantis Vetos Bipartisan Criminal Justice Bill
In a move that frustrated lawmakers across the political spectrum, Governor DeSantis vetoed a bill that passed both legislative chambers unanimously. The legislation would have made it easier for kids who've made a mistake to have their records expunged, allowing them to apply for college, achieve gainful employment, join the military and become productive members of society. I look forward to getting to Tallahassee and passing this excellent bill in 2022.
Monthly Town Hall
We also organized our first in-person town hall since the COVID-19 pandemic began. There was a great turnout, and we discussed numerous important issues, including traffic, infrastructure, taxes, and more! Click here to watch our town hall. [[link removed]]

Lightning Advance to the Stanley Cup
In honor of America's team, the Tampa Bay Lightning, advancing to the Stanley Cup, I, with no actual authority, have introduced a proclamation declaring Lightning attire as an appropriate substitute for all formal wear through the duration of the playoffs. Currently, the Bolts are up 2-0, so we are just two games away from keeping the cup in Tampa!
