Happy fourth of July! I hope you and your family are having a safe and fun weekend.

For me, it's been another busy week in District 59. To keep you updated, I want to provide a brief overview of the important things taking place.

But first, a reminder that COVID-19 vaccines are available to all Floridians aged 12 and over. To find a vaccination site near you, please visit floridahealthcovid19.gov. Or simply text your zipcode to 438829.

DeSantis Vetos Bipartisan Criminal Justice Bill

In a move that frustrated lawmakers across the political spectrum, Governor DeSantis vetoed a bill that passed both legislative chambers unanimously. The legislation would have made it easier for kids who've made a mistake to have their records expunged, allowing them to apply for college, achieve gainful employment, join the military and become productive members of society. I look forward to passing this excellent bill again in 2022.

Monthly Town Hall

We also organized our first in-person town hall since the COVID-19 pandemic began. There was a great turnout, and we discussed numerous important issues, including traffic, infrastructure, taxes, and more! Click here to watch our town hall.

It's Freedom Week

Lightning Advance to the Stanley Cup

In honor of America's team, the Tampa Bay Lightning, advancing to the Stanley Cup, I, with no actual authority, have introduced a proclamation declaring Lightning attire as an appropriate substitute for all formal wear throughout the playoffs. Currently, the Bolts are up 3-0, so we are just one games away from keeping the cup in Tampa!

Support our Back to School Drive

Starting Monday, Team Andrew is supporting a back-to-school drive for low-income Hillsborough County students. See the photo below for the items students will need to have a successful school year. All donations can be dropped off at 6152 Delancey Station Street, Suite 205, Riverview, Florida.
