For months, I — along with my colleagues and our movement — have been
calling on President Biden to honor his campaign promise to end the
federal death penalty — and late last night, the Department of Justice
announced that it will suspend all federal executions.
The death penalty — which disproportionately kills Black, Latinx, and poor
people — does absolutely nothing to make our communities safer. It is a
cruel and devastating tool of oppression, and it has no place in our
society.
State-sanctioned murder is not justice, and it never will be. The
abolition of the federal death penalty has been a longstanding priority
for me, and this work remains urgent.
We must keep up the pressure on President Biden to commute all death
sentences, and I will continue to work with my colleagues in Congress,
organizers, and advocates to ensure that no one else is condemned to die
at the hands of our criminal injustice system.

work to end the practice of state-sanctioned murder once and for all by
making a $3 contribution to our movement right now?

Thank you for being part of this movement. It is because of your activism,
community building, and support that we’re able to achieve victories like
this one.
In solidarity,
