The GOP is doing what they are best at — blurring the lines between reality and conspiracy theories for political gain. Over the last few months, the GOP has spent more effort on downplaying the traumatic events of the January 6 insurrection than they have on passing legislation that would benefit their constituents.

Members of the GOP have gone as far as to place blame on peaceful Black Lives Matter protesters for the events of January 6. They’d rather lie to themselves and the rest of America than own up and face the facts of the day: Donald Trump and other high-level Republicans stoked the flames of white supremacy and endangered their colleagues, countless members of law enforcement, and our democracy.

The GOP prides itself on being the party that “backs the blue,” but they won’t investigate an incident in which members of the Capitol Police risked their lives.
