Wicker for Senate New polio concern
<[link removed]>
Friend,
As a U.S. Senator committed to eradicating polio, I am troubled by the recent
attacks on polio health workers in Afghanistan.
President Biden has planned a complete withdrawal of U.S. federal troops from
Afghanistan by September 11, 2021. Since the announcement, polio health workers
have been attacked and murdered.
For Americans of today, polio is a crippling disease of the past. But for
Afghans, the transmission of wild polio is a serious threat that accelerates
greater regional instability. The promised absence of U.S. federal troops has
already opened the door for violence against the vulnerable and innocent.
HELP CONTAIN POLIO TODAY

It is estimated that OVER 3 MILLION children in Afghanistan will miss their
vaccinations this year. Eradicating polio begins with the immunization of
children, and the United States MUST not forget the people who make this
possible.
We must do two things:
* Protect frontline polio health workers in Afghanistan

* Ensure that polio does not resurge as a global health threat

The containment of polio and the protection of our own people begins in
Afghanistan.
Help me fight for this worthy cause TODAY.
