This is real progress, friend.

Today, the House of Commons adopted the Liberal government’s legislation to amend the Criminal Code to ban the harmful practice of anti-LGBTQ2 conversion therapy once and for all.

Justin Trudeau and our Liberal government have been clear that there is no place in Canada for this destructive, harmful, and deadly practice. We believe that every Canadian has the right to be themselves, and to love who they love.

That’s why we’ve taken action to make Canada’s laws against conversion therapy among the most progressive and comprehensive in the world.

We will always protect and support Canadians’ rights, friend – but especially in a minority Parliament, we know that we can never take our progress for granted.

More than half of Erin O’Toole’s Conservative MPs voted to block this legislation. Thankfully, despite everything they tried, #LoveWins.





We need to stay ready to respond whenever they work to roll back our progress, and to keep building a better, stronger, more inclusive Canada – together.
