Chairman's Update

This is a weekly update from the Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman
Lawrence Tabas filling you in on what our statewide party leaders are up to,
along with relevant news pertaining to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

June 12, 2021

Chairman's Message

Fellow Pennsylvanians,

This week, we scored a HUGE victory in the state legislature as our Republican
Legislators voted to terminate Governor's Wolf’s emergency powers. The voters
made it clear on May 18th that they rejected Wolf’s executive overreach and his
lockdowns, and after ending his emergency powers, our Party is working to
ensure we resume normal life as quickly as possible. But as we work to reopen
our state, we must also prepare to follow up on our victory by making sure our
Republican candidates win big next year. That’s why our Party is working
overtime to ensure we defeat Wolf’s Democrat candidates, elect a conservative
Republican to serve as our next Governor, and win elections up and down the
ballot.

Sincerely,

Lawrence J. Tabas
Chairman, Republican Party of Pennsylvania

unite US
June 6, 2021 | Fox News

West Virginia Democrat Joe Manchin has announced that he will vote against the
Democrats’ sweeping election reform bill that federalizes control over

should have bipartisan support. He also reiterated his opposition to Democrat
efforts to abolish the filibuster.

House advances bills to help military families; stimulus funding for state
veterans programs pending
June 9, 2021 | Pennsylvania Capital-Star

This week, the Pennsylvania House advanced eight bills that are part of a
package to help veterans and their families. Among other benefits, the
legislation allows them to receive lower college tuition and allows active duty
military members and disabled veterans to use out-of-state hunting and fishing
licenses in Pennsylvania. A proposal to increase state pension payments to
blind and paralyzed veterans is also pending as part of the package. House
Majority Leader Kerry Benninghoff, R-Centre, said that the proposals were a
small token of gratitude to those who had served. The legislation now moves to
the Pennsylvania Senate.
