I look forward to seeing you out and about at the various community councils, picnics, and family friendly events I've shared below. Family Fun Events Chanshtnu Muldoon Park Garden Parties 6:00-8:00pm Tuesday, June 8 & Thursday, June 10 Help create Anchorage’s newest community food forest and community garden at Chanshtnu Muldoon Park! This is an outdoor, family friendly, COVID safe activity. Tools will be provided. Contact Kristi Wood for more information: [email protected] or call/text: 907-278-2453. Spirit of Muldoon Picnic 12:00pm-2:00pm Saturday, June 12 Chanshtnu Muldoon Park Northeast Anchorage *free* community picnic & vaccine clinic. We will have food from local restaurants (Waffles & Whatnot, Tatilani, and Roscoe's) as well as sandwiches from Fred Meyer and Carrs. Vaccines from Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer and Moderna are expected to be available. Food, snacks, and drinks available while supplies last. Please park in the lot to the north by the Muldoon Library. Healthy Futures Kids Mile 7:00pm at Kincaid Park Thursday, June 17 Fun run, refreshments and prizes at the Mayor’s Marathon Expo. Free, but runners must pre-register here. Visit Black Lives in Alaska: Journey, Justice, Joy, an exhibition presenting the Black experience in Alaska. Downtown Summer Solstice Festival 12:00pm-6:00pm Saturday June 19 at Town Square Park, Peratrovich Park, E Street between 4th & 5th Ave, G Street between 3rd & 5th Ave, and Mayor’s Lot. This family-friendly event hosts a variety of entertainment, live music, dance, kids’ activities, a 3 on 3 basketball tournament, a sober garden by Recover Alaska, beer gardens and much more. Fourth of July Parade Sunday July 4 at 11:00am Delaney Park Alaska State Fair 12:00pm-2:00pm August 20- September 6 Closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays This weekend I helped neighbors build Anchorage's newest community food forest and community garden at Chanshtnu Muldoon Park! All Summer Long Boys & Girls Club Northeast Community Center 1251 Muldoon Rd., #153 11:00am-7:00pm, Monday-Friday Enjoy the gym, game room, music studio, art supplies and fun field trips. Become a member for free and join the fun. Call 333-2582 for more info. Kids Eat Free! 4:30pm-5:30pm, Monday-Friday Boys & Girls Club NECC All kids under 18 eat free supper through the end of summer. Muldoon Farmers Market 9:30am-2:30pm Every Saturday, June 26 – Sep. 25 Chanshtnu Muldoon Park. Visit www.muldoonfarmersmarket.org for information. Summer Discovery Fun in the Park! 3:30pm - 4:30pm, Every Wednesday Chanshtnu Muldoon Park Join Mr. Coffey for an awesome activity at Chanshtnu Muldoon Park! Event Type(s): Fun and Games, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), Crafts & DIY Age Group(s): Family, School Age, Teen Storytime in the Park! 11:00am - 12:00pm, Every Friday Chanshtnu Muldoon Park Storytime starts at 11AM sharp and runs approximately 20-30 minutes; family activity to follow. Muldoon Library Northeast Community Center 1251 Muldoon Rd. #158 Open 10am-6pm Tuesday-Friday; 11pm-6pm Saturday; closed Sunday-Monday. Goose Lake Park 3220 E Northern Lights Blvd. Playground, basketball courts, swimming area, beach, and bike trail access. Lifeguards on duty between 12:00pm-7:00pm daily. Volunteen Program 1pm-4pm on Tuesdays & Thursdays June 2 – July 23 Spenard Community Recreation Center Free. Learn new skills and give back to the community by improving local parks. Ages 12-16.
