Dear John,
55 years ago this month, NOW was founded to represent women in the corridors of power, in the workplace, and in our culture. We’re marking our 55th anniversary with an all-out effort to make this the most productive season for progressive change in years.
Will you help us meet this goal by making a generous contribution today?
Without you, John, NOW would not be what it is today: a vibrant community of strong change-makers determined to defend—and extend—women’s rights.

As a NOW supporter, it’s your anniversary too. You are an essential part of NOW’s ambitious agenda, and in the coming weeks and months we are going to be busier than ever. President Biden’s recovery plan is moving through Congress, and NOW is pressing for legislation that codifies a feminist agenda for years to come. Tomorrow, I’m speaking on the steps of the Supreme Court in support of S.1, the For the People Act.
The challenges facing us are great, but our grassroots community is strong. We can overcome enormous odds and big spending from the other side—but we need enough resources to stay in the fight.
For 55 years, NOW has been one of the nation’s most visible, active, and energetic forces for women’s rights. I’m sure you share my pride whenever you see the iconic NOW round in a news photo from the Supreme Court, a public protest, or wherever defenders of women’s rights gather in numbers. They depend on NOW being there for them, and we can’t let them down.
The next few weeks are critical—we need to build momentum for a feminist agenda and then keep it going. Please join us in this crucial moment by making your anniversary gift today.
