Friend,

On today’s date in 1919, Congress passed the 19th Amendment, a Constitutional amendment to grant women the right to vote.

Today, I am proud to be the first woman to represent the Lehigh Valley in Congress, and to serve alongside an historic number of women in Congress.

I’m grateful for the women I serve with, and to the suffragettes who came before me and bravely fought for women’s rights. The 19th amendment is just one example of the progress a group of dedicated individuals can make, and a reminder that our rights cannot be taken for granted. That’s the reason this famous Margaret Mead quote is appended to all emails I send: “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.”

We still have work to do to ensure equality under the law for all women, particularly women of color and LGBTQ+ women. Reproductive rights continue to be under attack - far-right legislators across the country are attempting to pass hyper-restrictive legislation that take a woman’s decisions about her body and health care away from her. Women make an average 85% of what their male counterparts do, and the gap is even larger for women of color.

I am fighting every day for women to have equality under the law. But I need your help to defend my seat, and continue advocating for women.

On today’s historic anniversary, can you chip in to my re-election campaign to ensure I can keep fighting for equality? ([link removed])

Susan Wild represents Pennsylvania's 7th District in Congress. She believes we can grow overall economic prosperity while still caring for the vulnerable members of our community. And she knows, now more than ever, it's working-class families that deserve a break in this economy — not big city billionaires and wealthy corporations.

But she needs your support today -- her campaign runs on grassroots donations since she's not taking a dime of corporate PAC money. If you can, consider giving anything you can to her campaign today. >> ([link removed])
