Hi John,

The U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights is holding a public hearing next week, June 7-11, on improving enforcement of Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972. They want to hear from students, families, educators, and advocates about combating discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity and all forms of sex discrimination, including sexual harassment.

This is a critical and unique opportunity to tell ED OCR why we need nondiscrimination protections that enumerate sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression.
Can we count on you to stand up for LGBTQ+ youth, especially transgender and nonbinary youth who have been increasingly targeted by discriminatory state laws? [[link removed]]

Your comment will help shape future Title IX regulations which, in turn, helps us challenge discriminatory policies that harm LGBTQ+ youth.

The opposition is actively working to undermine LGBTQ+ youth's access to education. Please joining GLSEN in urging the U.S. Department of Education to adopt new Title IX regulations that protect LGBTQ+ youth.

In solidarity,
