Friend,
This past Tuesday, May 25, marked one year since police murdered George Floyd.
Black organizers and advocates have been demanding change for a safer, more just world -- and it is an absolute tragedy that George Floyd will not get to live in it.
Justice requires the end of a violent policing system rooted in white supremacy. Today and every day, pursuing justice must not be a responsibility that rests on Black shoulders alone.
Act now: Build power for Black lives using digital actions in our racial justice toolkit: [link removed]
We hope to honor George Floyd’s life by creating pathways to engage folks who are mourning for him and with his loved ones. Using our toolkit, you can get involved in a continued effort to protect Black lives by urging your elected officials to pass crucial legislation, registering to vote and backing anti-racist candidates with your ballot, as well as reviewing resources from leading actors in the fight for Black liberation.
We will not accept the continued normalization of state violence against Black people. Although nothing we do can reverse the tragic losses of George Floyd and too many others murdered by police violence, we can mobilize for racial justice until there are no more lives lost. Your activism can start or continue here today.
