This past Tuesday, May 25, marked one year since police murdered George Floyd.

Black organizers and advocates have been demanding change for a safer, more just world — and it is an absolute tragedy that George Floyd will not get to live in it.

Justice requires the end of a violent policing system rooted in white supremacy. Today and every day, pursuing justice must not be a responsibility that rests on Black shoulders alone.

We will not accept the continued normalization of state violence against Black people.
