I was
worried about this happening...and it just happened.

Senate Republicans used the filibuster today to block the creation of a
Commission to fully investigate the deadly January 6 attack on the
Capitol. 54 Senators voted in favor of the investigation — so we can find
out exactly what happened, stop it from ever happening again, and hold all
those responsible accountable. But the GOP was able to block the
majority-approved Commission from passing, because of the filibuster. So
what do we do now? END the filibuster.

If we do not end the filibuster right away, our democracy will only face
greater threats. The GOP’s shameless efforts to hide what happened on
January 6 and protect those who fueled the attack, like Donald Trump and
Ted Cruz, will hinder our ability to stop the next attack. And with the
filibuster in place, our Democratic majority won’t be able to pass
critical reforms to safeguard our democracy — like voter protections,
getting big money out of politics, gun violence prevention measures, and
more. It’s clear: we must nix the filibuster.
