John, in a moment I’m going to ask you to make a contribution toward our campaign for Lt. Governor. But first, I hope you will give me a chance to explain why this request is so important, especially today.

Tomorrow night, we will close the books on our final public fundraising deadline before the primary election. A few days later, we will file a report with state election officials and our numbers will be made public for everyone to see.

I’m really proud of this report and what it says about our campaign. John, this report shares more than just how much we’ve raised — more importantly, it tells the world how many people are with us and have chipped in because they believe in what we’re building together.

Our numbers are proof that this campaign, our organizing efforts, ads, and more are built by folks like you chipping in what you can, when you can — and that’s a big deal.

But we are down to the wire here and my team says we’re a little behind where we need to be if we want to hit our goal tomorrow night. With the primary election less than two weeks away, this deadline could not be more important, so I’m hoping you will pitch in to help us catch up.
