John, in a moment I’m going to ask you to make a contribution toward our campaign for Lt. Governor. But first, I hope you will give me a chance to explain why this request is so important, especially today.

Tomorrow night, we will close the books on our final public fundraising deadline before the primary election. A few days later, we will file a report with state election officials and our numbers will be made public for everyone to see.
