You’ve probably heard of Ohio U.S. Representative Jim Jordan.

He’s one of the most partisan members of Congress and is notorious for his “duck” shaped congressional district. That district was drawn during the last redistricting process when map manipulators in Ohio gerrymandered the state’s fourth congressional district to favor their party and to deny real political representation for Ohioans.

Here’s just a snapshot of how Jordan’s gerrymandered district has enabled his partisan politics:

FIRST: Jordan was one of the loudest proponents of the seditious “stop the steal” rhetoric after voters soundly rejected former President Trump in 2020.

THEN: In the runup to the insurrection on January 6, this “big lie” was peddled by Jordan and other extreme members of his party which contributed to the violence at the Capitol.

NOW: Jordan is obstructing any chance of accountability. Last week, he voted against a bipartisan commission to study the impact and contributing factors of the insurrection.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but a recent report by the New York Times made it clear: Gerrymandering may shield insurrection apologists and enablers like Jim Jordan from being held accountable by voters at the ballot box if we don’t end map manipulation.

Will you make a donation right now to help fund our plans to hold partisan politicians like Jordan accountable by ending gerrymandering and safeguarding our democracy?

Jordan’s “duck” district is currently one of the most convoluted districts in the state that includes suburbs of Columbus, goes almost to the Indiana border, and scoops up almost all the way to Lake Erie. These gerrymandered lines protect Jordan from being held accountable at the ballot box, which is why it’s unsurprising that he “legislates” like an extreme ideologue.

If you’re just as outraged as I am about Jordan’s partisan politics and his gerrymandered district that has contributed to the political polarization we’re witnessing in Ohio and across our country, make a donation here to support our state-by-state strategy to achieve fair maps.
