The Supreme Court is going to hear its first abortion case since Amy Coney Barrett was confirmed. With a 6-3 far-right supermajority, we have to assume that abortion rights — particularly in states like Georgia with Republican governors — are very much at risk.

Georgia Republicans tried to pass an extremely restrictive abortion law that essentially banned abortions, until a federal judge struck it down. The Supreme Court could very well give them the green light.

If the Supreme Court overturns Roe vs. Wade , we face the real possibility that even more decisions about our healthcare and bodies will be stripped away — so Congress must be ready to pass legislation to protect abortion rights.
