The Supreme Court is going to hear its first abortion case since Amy Coney Barrett was confirmed. With a 6-3 far-right supermajority, we have to assume that abortion rights — particularly in states like Georgia with Republican governors — are very much at risk.
Georgia Republicans tried to pass an extremely restrictive abortion law that essentially banned abortions, until a federal judge struck it down. The Supreme Court could very well give them the green light.
If the Supreme Court overturns Roe vs. Wade, we face the real possibility that even more decisions about our healthcare and bodies will be stripped away — so Congress must be ready to pass legislation to protect abortion rights.
Thank you for your support and for standing with me to protect the right to a legal, safe abortion. There is so much at stake, and this is a fight we cannot afford to lose.
