Team — It feels redundant to tell
you this over email, but broadband internet access is an
essential tool for communication.

Our digital world is vast, expansive, and growing at a
rapid pace, but it is beginning to reflect the inequities that
were woven into our country.

Black and brown communities like those in Brownsville and
Ocean Hill right here in Brooklyn struggle to access broadband
internet. In Brownsville alone, 56% of residents say they rely on
public Wi-Fi because it's "free or cheaper to use" than other
connectivity options, according to a recent report by Brooklyn
Public Library.

And even if residents in these areas manage to get
broadband access, it’s spotty at best, often cutting out when it
rains and randomly throughout the year.

Across New York, while many are thinking about what’s
coming next in terms of high-speed internet and 5G networks, too
many right here in our own community struggle to even get the
most basic access to the digital tools they need.

Yvette is on the frontlines fighting against digital
redlining and is dedicated to ensuring everyone in our community
has access to the 21st-century tools they need. Can you sign on
in support of Yvette’s fight against inequalities in our internet
expansion? ( [link removed] )

STAND AGAINST DIGITAL REDLINING
( [link removed] )

Wealthier communities have been allowed to be first in line
for fiber internet, consistent connections, and essential service
to keep people connected.

Meanwhile, big telecom companies are fighting tooth and
nail to stop any attempt to bridge the digital divide, going so
far as to sue the state of New York for signing a new law that
would demand internet service providers provide affordable
options to eligible families.

This fight is far from over.

It’s past time for equal access to
broadband, team. Sign on to correct this
injustice TODAY.
