As you know, the people of Florida overwhelmingly support medical marijuana. Just a few years ago, over 70% of Floridians voted in favor of expanding medical marijuana access throughout the state.


And the benefits are clear.


Medical marijuana reduces opioid abuse, helps our veterans manage PTSD, alleviates stress and anxiety, and generates substantial revenue for state and local governments.


However, some of my Republican colleagues and their pharmaceutical lobbyist friends continue undermining the voters' will. That's why I drafted and introduced the "Medical Marijuana Public Employee Protection Act."



My comprehensive legislation improves statewide medical marijuana practices by establishing:



✅ Free medical marijuana cards for veterans



✅ Medical marijuana card reciprocity for out-of-state patients



✅ Expanded telehealth for medical marijuana patients



✅ Advanced research programs for DUI and testing applications



✅ Employee protections for medical marijuana patients


Unfortunately, Tallahassee Republicans blocked our effort to expand medical marijuana rights during the 2021 legislative session. However, I'll keep fighting because we cannot allow the voters' will to be ignored.
