India's Dire Surge of COVID-19
This is an email I was hoping to not have to send. Unfortunately, India is now experiencing a catastrophic rise in COVID-19 cases. The infection rates are the highest ever seen, nearly triple 2020's peak. In just one day, there were nearly 353,000 new cases and 2,812 deaths -- a troubling new global record.
Please make a compassionate emergency gift today to save lives in India and to support health workers and people in crisis around the world.
The outbreak in India is so severe because critical supplies were already in short supply. The deadly shortage of oxygen and lack of PPE also threatens to spread the outbreak further. At the peak of the surge in May, daily new cases are expected to reach 500,000. Hospitals and ICUs are already operating at or over capacity.

Project HOPE is working with our local partners and government officials to get PPE, oxygen supplies, ICU equipment, ventilators, and other critical items to support the overwhelmed health care system and save lives. Initial plans target four states in India where hospitals and clinics are in the greatest need of supplies and relief.
