We’d like to share why Yvette is so passionate about
ending the filibuster, but before we do, we have an important
finance update.

Yesterday, the team set a goal to bring in 100 new
digital donations to support Yvette and her fight for justice,
and the response was overwhelming. We now need just 29 more

Yvette is leading the charge against the archaic,
racist filibuster that allows a minority of Republicans to set
the tone and stop any progress.

* The filibuster isn’t a sacred or necessary practice.
The filibuster has been amended several times over history and
has even been suspended as late as 2017.

* Eliminating the filibuster isn’t hard. It would just
take a simple majority vote in the Senate to suspend the rule.
Mitch has done it a couple of times before…

* The filibuster continues to be an obstacle for
critical legislation. Outside of the historic injustices the
filibuster has allowed, this practice blocked critical gun
background check legislation in 2013. Imagine if we had
eliminated this practice back then.

It’s clear that the filibuster is getting in the way
of critical legislation that will protect the American people.
Mitch McConnell continues to use this practice to set an agenda
that doesn’t suit anyone but the GOP.

That’s why we’re proud to have Yvette fighting to end
the filibuster in Washington. Help us keep her seat at the table
