Folks, I’m a firm believer that good listeners make good leaders. That’s why I want to make sure I’m hearing your stories and understanding the issues that matter most to you so that we can fight for real progress together.
To do that most effectively, it’s important that I hear directly from you — that’s why I send around these short surveys. I wish we could sit down over a cup of coffee (or tea!), but the next-best way for me to get your input is by sending you this email and just asking.
Can you take a minute (or two, tops!) to fill out my quick May Priorities Survey and let me know what’s on your mind? I want to make sure I’m fighting for your priorities in Washington — and honestly, one of my favorite parts of the job is reading your responses. [[link removed]]

For too many politicians, stuff like this can go in one ear and out the other pretty quickly. But my parents raised me to believe that to be a true part of your community, it’s not enough just to keep your lawn nice or say “Hi!” at the grocery store. You need to actually listen to each other and work together to solve problems.
One of the best parts of my job is getting to hear from folks like you. You see, the whole point of our re-election campaign was about us setting priorities together, and now we get to follow through on them as a team to make real progress.
As I have always seen it, if you really listen to people, you’ll find everybody has a story worth hearing. Everybody has a problem worth working to solve. And when it comes to making big decisions as a community, everyone deserves a seat at the table.
So, I’m asking you to pull up a seat and join me at the table. Help me do a better job of standing up for folks like you by filling out my quick May Priorities Survey. Your feedback is important to me. [[link removed]]

There's a lot we’ve already accomplished together, but our work is only getting started. If we want to make progress on issues from equality to climate change to health care, then we can’t afford to slow down anytime soon. Our commitment to the fights ahead is needed now more than ever.
That's why it's so important to hear from you right now. Thanks for weighing in if you can.
