Fellow Young Democrat,

On Friday, June 25th and Saturday, June 26th Indiana Young Democrats will be hosting our Annual Convention! The most exciting time of the year for young Hoosier progressives, our annual conventions give us the chance to all come together, socialize, and strategize as we work to elect more Democrats to offices across the state. Convention is open to all Hoosiers between the ages of 16 and 36 who are dues-paying members of the Indiana Young Democrats. Click here ([link removed]) if you haven't paid your annual dues yet! If you haven't had the chance, be sure to also join one of our constituency caucuses ([link removed]) before the convention!

Register now for the annual convention ([link removed]) on Friday, June 25th and Saturday, June 26th.

Our annual convention will look a bit different this year compared to years past. Because of the on-going COVID-19 pandemic, the core events of the convention will take place virtually while local chapters will be able to host socially-distanced gatherings with smaller groups of people. All of these events will follow CDC and local health official guidelines and will be developed with inclusivity in mind. If you are interested in knowing what is happening in your area, contact your local IYD County Chair!

If you would like to run for elected office within IYD, click here ([link removed]) to declare your candidacy. Declarations of candidacy must be submitted no later than May 12th.

Following our state convention, the Young Democrats of America Annual Convention will take place from August 11th through the 14th. While our convention will take place virtually, the Young Democrats of America are still considering whether an in-person convention can be held safely in August. If the convention is in-person, it will be in nearby Cincinnati!

We are especially proud of IYD National Committee Representative and Chairman of the YDA Rules and Charter Standing Committee, Matthew Kochevar! Matthew will serve as the Rules Committee Chair for the convention and will serve on the Procedures Committee! Matthew is the only non-Ohioan from the Great Lakes Region who has been appointed to convention leadership. Congratulations Matthew!
