Public health groups call on FDA to deny authorization of sale for JUUL e-cigarette products ([link removed])

Public health groups submitted a letter ([link removed]) to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) today urging it to deny authorization of the sale of JUUL e-cigarette products because they do not meet the required “public health standard” within the premarket review application process.

Indiana – The legislature passed a state budget that includes a new tax on e-liquids and e-cigarette devices. The tax would charge 15% on retail sales of vaping products and consumable materials and 25% on wholesalers for closed-system cartridges like JUUL.
