Fight for $15

John,
A week ago, I went on strike to demand a voice on the job, and to support a landmark pro-worker bill -- the FAST Recovery Act (California AB 257) -- for worker power and corporate accountability. Check out our actions and share on Facebook >> [[link removed]]
I've worked at McDonald's throughout the entire pandemic, and it taught me a few things.
When they paid me poverty wages and didn't provide adequate PPE, it taught me that they see me as disposable. When they refused to give us paid leave if we got sick, it taught me that there's no limit to their exploitation. When they illegally fired me, it taught me I'd have to FIGHT to get my job back with back pay.
That's why workers across California went on strike and took action over the last week, from San Diego to Sacramento, as part of the #FASTRecovery Act Road to Recovery tour. The FAST Recovery Act will allow us to have a seat at the table and give workers the power to hold corporations accountable. It's working. Just yesterday, the bill made it out of its first committee vote.
This shows the momentum that workers have when we organize. Check out the highlights below and share to spread the word about how workers are fighting to make a difference. [[link removed]]
McDonald's Workers went on STRIKE in Los Angeles
Gig workers stood in solidarity with fast-food workers in San Francisco and Oakland
Workers hold a moment of silence for George Floyd at the Sacramento fast-food strike
And then showed up big at the State Capitol
Solidarity from workers around the world, from Thailand to the Philippines
It's time to take power back from corporations like McDonald's that exploit us. That starts with the FAST Recovery Act. Share to show your support >> [[link removed]]
