John, I've been wanting to tell you about a mother whose child suffered from malnutrition and recovered with the help of people like you.

My team was introduced to Aziah Mansur Qasim and her seven children in Al-Sahdah camp in Yemen. The family was forced to flee their home and abandon the shop that supported them after the conflict came to their front door.

Safe from artillery fire but far from home, life took another unexpected and devastating turn for Aziah and her family: Her husband left Aziah to take care of her seven children by herself in a country with skyrocketing food prices and few opportunities for income.

One of her children, Abdulrahman, became malnourished and needed urgent medical care. "He was very weak and unable to walk or even sit," Aziah says. She was terrified that her son would not survive.

But through your support from compassionate people like you, Aziah was able to get the care her son needed.


"When the [IRC] medical team came, thank God we felt safe, and my kids got medicine and started getting better. Not only me and my kids, but everyone."
