I’m proud to sponsor H.R. 1 because this bill has the bold and sweeping
set of reforms our democracy needs. Here’s just some of what H.R. 1 would
do:

* Expand automatic and same-day voter registration

* End partisan gerrymandering

* Make Election Day a holiday so people have more time to vote

* Overturn Citizens United and get money out of politics

* Closing the revolving door between Congress and lobbying firms

Passing H.R. 1 is essential if we want to achieve popular progressive
priorities like Medicare for All, raising the minimum wage, and a Green
New Deal. Republicans know that too – which is why they’ve introduced over
250 voter suppression bills in 43 states to make it harder for people to
make our voices heard.
