November Lobby Day registration closing Oct. 20

CCL's annual November Lobby Day takes place on Nov. 11 and 12 this year
in Washington, D.C. For those whose schedules allow, this is a great
opportunity to receive more training as a climate advocate and to lobby
on Capitol Hill for the Energy Innovation Act.

Be sure to register before the deadline: 5 p.m. ET on October 20.

Grant from Rick Steves: CCE is receiving a $50k grant from Rick Steves'
Europe as part of their "Climate Smart Commitment." Read more.

Regional conference in Boulder: 185 attendees had a wonderful conference
at the Mountain West (formerly Wild West) regional conference last
weekend. 60 attended the Climate Advocate Training workshop, including
students all the way from Arizona. Read more.

Media: LTE urges member of Congress to act

for September was to write letters to the editor. John Smillie from
Crawfordsville, Indiana, is one volunteer to successfully publish a
letter in his local paper. His letter reads, in part, "We need to take
action, and one powerful step we can take is already in front of the
U.S. House of Representatives - the Energy Innovation and Carbon
Dividend Act (H.R. 763). I urge my congressperson, Representative Jim
Baird (IN-4), to support this crucial bill." You can read John's full

Featured Action Team: Co-led by Brady Fergusson and Mike Roman, the CCL
Peace Corps Action Team uses the power of the Peace Corps network to
build political will for climate action throughout the world. On the
team's next call, scheduled for Oct. 9 at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT, CCL
staffer Brett Cease (pictured) will be the guest speaker to talk about
how Returned Peace Corps Volunteers can get engaged in advocating
climate solutions.
