I love my job, John:

Getting to travel around the district and represent the
interests of Californians, and frankly -- all Americans -- is the
honor of my life. Speaking with my neighbors and constituents
about their thoughts and ideas on how to make our district,
state, and nation better -- and doing what I can to apply those
ideas to create positive change whenever I head to Washington
-- is an incredible job to have and a great privilege.

But I'd be lying to you if I didn't say that while I'm on the
job, I miss my family.

It seems like more and more often, late-night votes and
emergency situations call me away. I don't always make it to
every event, and there's even been a time or two when after
delayed flights and getting home early in the morning, I set off
the burglar alarm at my own house.

Getting to work for you is truly the honor of my life, and

my family just a little bit easier.
