Thanks in large part to organizations like Fair Fight, which spent years mobilizing thousands of new voters, Democrats earned huge victories in Georgia. We flipped the state blue for Biden. Then we won two critical run-off elections that delivered us the Senate.

These wins came despite Trump and his acolytes in Congress doing everything in their power to sabotage vote-by-mail. For months we heard lies and misinformation meant to sow distrust in our elections. Even after they lost, they doubled down. Then, the voter suppression bills began emerging from red states. And they haven’t stopped since.

Republican voter suppression is nothing new, but over the last two months their efforts have skyrocketed in intensity. Over 250 voter suppression bills have been proposed in states -- including the blatantly racist legislation that was signed behind closed doors by Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp last night.

As Georgia Senator Raphael Warnock put it in his first ever US Senate floor speech, “we are witnessing a massive and unabashed assault on voting rights unlike anything we have seen since the Jim Crow era.”

The new Georgia law combines nearly every crooked tactic in the book -- voter ID requirements, vote-by-mail restrictions, and attacks on voter registration access.
